    Looks a lot like my ex-husband’s footprint…

  2. March 6, 2011 8:18 am

    My car no-likey these ;0(

  3. March 6, 2011 8:19 am

you make a nasty pot-hole look so artistic.
My Mum was on Irish radio talking about them as they’re even worse over there

Mmm these are everywhere! Probably made worse by all that frost and snow we had end of last year!

  5. March 6, 2011 8:47 am

    Whump! Owie! Yes, yuck!
    :) Karin

  6. March 6, 2011 8:48 am

Ach! My nemesis. My eyes hurt just looking at it.

  7. March 6, 2011 8:53 am

Hahaha, our area is plagued too.

    Councils suck everywhere huh?

  8. March 6, 2011 8:55 am

Looks like something from the moon….

  9. March 6, 2011 9:08 am

Brilliant, I buckled my wheel on one of those bastards xx

  10. March 6, 2011 9:13 am

Argh! I hate potholes….the roads are covered in them after all that snow at the end of last year too. Grrrr.

  11. March 6, 2011 9:23 am

still not recovered from the snow?

  12. March 6, 2011 9:27 am

That’s a mahoosive pothole. I don’t think Lancashire councils are repairing them either (apart from the main roads). Gutted x

  13. March 6, 2011 9:37 am

Oh my pet hate in the world!! They never repair them around here drives me mad! xx

  14. March 6, 2011 9:47 am

    Damn potholes!!

    There’s 10,000 holes in Blackburn……. Lancashire

  16. March 6, 2011 10:03 am

Definitely a thing of our time HUN!

  17. March 6, 2011 10:04 am

When I was a kid, my Nan told me that potholes were there because a giant stepped on the road before the tarmac had set properly! I think that’s a much nicer way to think about them.

  18. March 6, 2011 10:17 am

I had to open your page very careful after your demonic gnome but joking aside, they are a pain in the arse! NYCC have done a pretty good job with some of our local roads but there are plenty that are still just downright dangerous.

  19. March 6, 2011 10:26 am

Looks like a dinosaur mark or a Yeti footprint. Either way, that pothole ain’t NOTHING! You should see some of the potholes around these parts. You could lose a small child in them.

I’m joining in for Silent Sunday for the first, thanks to the encouragement of my SIL, Kirsten of Gone Bananas. Would love for you to stop by and sneak a peek. :-)

  20. March 6, 2011 11:07 am

    Booo Hisssss.

  21. March 6, 2011 11:42 am

Hahaha…I agree with Liska’s comment…You really have made that nasty hole look all ‘arty’

  22. March 6, 2011 11:43 am

Oooooh lovely! I hope you avoided it! With the rapid temperature changes here, our roads look like the moon!

  23. March 6, 2011 11:48 am

Far too many of those around at the moment.
Hope yours was on a nice quiet road to avoid the risk of being hit by a car whilst adjusting your aperture.

  24. March 6, 2011 12:03 pm

I hate these. They make my teeth rattler (and they’re not even false!)

We have bigger ones than that in up up north. ;)

  26. March 6, 2011 12:44 pm

I don’t even drive and these annoy me…

  27. March 6, 2011 12:47 pm

I feel some compo coming on!! ;0)

  28. March 6, 2011 12:51 pm

Oh my, I feel your pain!

Back in Johannesburg we would often loose cars down potholes! Worst is when it’s bucketing down so you cannot see the buggers!

  29. March 6, 2011 1:02 pm

Ah yes, plenty of those around these parts.

  30. March 6, 2011 1:17 pm

The dodging of the potholes is becoming something of an Olympic sport :(

  31. March 6, 2011 1:17 pm

These drive me potty (sorry, couldn’t resist) :)

  32. March 6, 2011 2:28 pm

My car feels your pain! lol Our potholes sometimes turn out to be sinkholes! Yikes! ;o)

  33. March 6, 2011 2:55 pm

I don’t think our roads have ever been so bad. It’s like slalom driv ing now to dodge the pothole

The bane of our lives! They are just getting worse :-( x

  35. March 6, 2011 6:38 pm

OOOH Worst thing ever when you are with a bike and in the winter even worse, they get filled with ice and then you end up off your bike!!

  36. March 6, 2011 7:52 pm

Very befitting of Silent Sunday… there are no words to describe these *holes* x

  37. March 6, 2011 7:55 pm

Bloody pot holes. Grumble, mumble, grumble, groan … heh!

  38. March 6, 2011 8:03 pm

I didn’t know you’d been around my area lately! No? Our town is rife with them, they just seem to get worse and worse.

  39. March 6, 2011 8:21 pm

    Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.

  40. March 6, 2011 8:33 pm

rubbish! I live in pot hole city central – but I think we are feeling the same pain or suspension problems given the weather over the last couple of years. Unfortunately, the spending cuts means they are not getting fixed.

can I direct you to http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/

I think they are breeding. Do you know that DVLA are failing people taking their driving tests if they fail to miss one of these at the moment. Its a bit bleedin hard with the number on the roads…

  43. March 6, 2011 9:37 pm

Oh wow, I can empathise completely. Bloody potholes. I get the bus so don’t even have to drive over them but the constant jumping in my seat annoys me! That’s a good one. Or bad one, depending which way you look at it…

  44. March 6, 2011 9:56 pm

    grrr pot holes

  45. March 6, 2011 10:15 pm

Apparently Cumbria CC have spent £1 million in compensation claims for damage by those!

  46. March 7, 2011 9:26 am

    Brilliant idea, love it!

  47. March 9, 2011 9:39 pm

    *stirs tarmac tauntingly*
