Recognition
Barely two months since I re-evaluated my blogging activity and decided to take my foot off the gas, I find myself free-wheeling towards two blog awards.
Isn’t it ironic. Don’t you think?
The MAD Blog awards are at the end of September, preceded at the start of the month by The Gurgles!
Much to my surprise, I’ve bagged a finalist spot for Gurgles Daddy Blogger. Here is the full list of Daddy Blog nominees.
The life and times of a house husband (http://goonerjamie.blogspot.com/)
Daddynatal blog (http://www.daddynatal.co.uk/blog.php)
Daddacool (http://www.daddacool.co.uk/)
The daddy diaries (http://www.daddydiariesblog.blogspot.com/)
… and me.
I assume the person (or persons) who nominated me is a regular reader of The Blog Up North, so I’m writing this to say thank you. You are too kind. I should also thank the preliminary judges who shortlisted my blog for a finalist’s berth. I am humbled.
As always, I feel like a bit of an interloper – I’m a dad who blogs, not a daddy blogger – but nonetheless I’m extremely grateful.
So grateful, in fact, I’d like you not to vote for me. I’d rather you vote for one of the bona fide daddy bloggers on the list. Okay? This isn’t some clever reverse psychology. The other bloggers deserve a Gurgle more than I do. If you think these words cost nothing, might I point out I’m passing up a chance to meet Myleene Klass here.
You have until 12pm on 7th September to vote in this and the other categories.
Good luck to all who have been nominated.

Whoops, too late.
Too late, voted for you days ago.
