About me and my blog
I am Him Up North, and the author of The Blog Up North.
I live in Yorkshire, UK, with my wife and two tweenage sons.
The Blog Up North is where I articulate my thoughts on anything and everything – music, being a parent, you name it – and is also home to my creative writing. Then again, all writing is creative, isn’t it?

I have just read your ‘why do I blog’ blog. Ifound it rather sad and disturbing, hence this message. No matter what your reasons for writing what you felt compelled to write ‘under duress’, I feel that your initial reasons and hopes for your blog must now reaffirm themselves. Step back for a time then come back with guns blazing and give us all what we spend our days looking forward to, the one and only ,’ The Blog Up North’. I have never read such soul searching honesty, perhaps as you say ,that would be good for all of us. I am recovering from Guillain-Barre syndrome where I nearly died, but now I have written a book( still to be published) and am now busy writing short stories. I am still driving an electric wheelchair but I still try to laugh several times a day. I am really looking forward to your next blog! GO GET ‘EM! Regards, Ian m Allan. (expansionlink on twitter)
I wanted to contact you to tell you I have nominated you for my Blog Lovin’ Award because I love reading your blog and wanted to acknowledge that fact to the rest of the blogsphere.
I had hoped you would want to take part and pass the award onto 15 of your own favourite blogs too, but then I read that you were winding up your blog. That saddens me! However, I will say a big thank you for enriching my blogging experience and for widening my circle of online friends, and wish you all the best for the future.
just stumbled across your blog and i absolutely love it. will be back to read more in the future
